As we are now approaching the summer months, it probably means we are going to start spending more time outdoors and making the most of our garden space. However, you may have the issue of your garden furniture looking a bit worn out, and this could mean that you don’t have anything to sit and relax on.
If you are hoping to get over this issue, there are quite a number of quick and easy things you can do to give your garden furniture a quick revamp, which can actually enhance your whole outdoor space too!
Add Some Paint
Arguably, one of the easiest ways you can give your garden furniture a quick revamp is by adding a fresh lick of paint. This will differ on the type of furniture you have, but if it is wooden furniture – you will want to sand it down slightly first so it has a smoother surface. For all types of furniture you will need to make sure that you use the correct type of paint on the furniture as different materials require different types of paint.
One of the best ways to overcome this is to check at the DIY store which paint is best for your furniture. Also, when it comes to actually painting, it would be best to do it inside and let the paint settle before taking it back outdoors and using it.
Take Your Indoor Furniture Outside
If you are going to start spending more time outdoors when it comes to the summer months, but you don’t actually have a garden furniture set, then it can be a great idea to take your indoor furniture out into your garden.
This is usually done best with conservatory furniture, as it is easily transferrable to your garden, and will only maybe require some new cushions or cloths to spruce it up a bit.
Hang Some Fabrics Overhead
If your overall garden furniture is starting to look a little lacklustre, you can easily make the area seem much more intimate and serene by hanging some fabrics over the top of your furniture set. This can be a great alternative to an awning and you can get as colourful as you want with the fabrics.
This will instantly make your garden furniture set feel more vibrant and will give the space a new lease of life.
Clean Up Your Garden Furniture
Without a doubt, one of the easiest ways you can revamp your furniture is by giving it a good clean. The important thing to remember when cleaning your furniture is that you do not actually end up damaging it. Therefore, the process to follow would be to first give it a wipe down with a dry cloth to remove any large pieces of dirt. You would then want to get a bucket filled up with warm water and soap, and get a sponge or a cloth (a cloth would be better to get into the small niggly areas) and wipe down the full set.
Once this is done, your furniture will be sure to look much newer and in a better condition.
